Dr. Maricia grew up on a farm in Mpumalanga where her father was a grain farmer. In  2006 she moved to Pretoria where she completed high school and her medical training at the Medical University of South Africa.

After graduating she completed her two year internship at the Free State Hospital Complex in Bloemfontein where she met her husband, Dr. Zander. Her community service year was well spent at Kimberley Hospital, with 6 monthly rotations in Plastic-and Reconstructive Surgery as well as Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Dr. Maricia is experienced and excels in the fields of aesthetic- and functional medicine.

Holistic, individualised patient care is key when she takes on any medical case. She believes that each individual is unique and should medically be treated according to their uniqueness. She believes in achieving balance in all fields of the lives of her patients, be it mental health, physical health, lifestyle coaching and fitness.

Dr. Maricia is currently registered as an ACLS-EP provider. She has completed multiple certificate trainings in aesthetic and functional medicine and is currently completing her advanced diploma in aesthetic medicine.
